What is a job readiness assessment?

A job readiness assessment checks how well you can use your knowledge and skills in situations you may face at work. It looks at what you know, how you solve problems, and how you explain your ideas.

At GII QUEST™, you complete a test and meet an industry expert one to one. They review your answers and practical work, then give you scores and written feedback across eight areas. You leave knowing what went well and what needs more practice.

For example: knowing a concept is one thing. Choosing when to use it, explaining your choice and handling a follow-up question show how well you understand it.

Before you start interviewing

“Am I ready?”
Let’s give you a clearer answer.

How your job readiness
assessment works.

From registration to your result, here’s what you’ll do and what happens on our side.

  1. Register and book a slot

Choose the field you want to be assessed in and book your Live Expert Session. Pick a field you’ve studied or worked in, so the feedback is relevant to the jobs you want.

    Your first step
  2. Receive your test link

Your test link is sent immediately after registration. Keep it handy and plan to complete the test before your live session.

    Immediately after registration
  3. Complete the test first

Answer 45 multiple-choice questions and complete the written task. Read the instructions carefully and answer in your own words. This gives your expert a starting point for the conversation.

    Before the live session
  4. Your expert reviews your work

Before you meet, the expert reviews your completed test. They look at your answers so they can ask relevant questions and explore how you arrived at them.

    Behind the scenes
  5. Meet your expert one to one

Join the live session, talk through your answers and show how you approach practical work. Expect follow-up questions about your choices, not just a request to repeat what you wrote.

    Your live conversation
  6. Receive your report

After the live session is complete, you receive your report, recording and transcript. Your report explains your result and the areas to work on. If you qualify as Job-Ready, you also receive a certificate.

    Your result and next steps

120 minutes in total. This covers the assessment as a whole, not just the live conversation. Complete your test before the booked session so the expert can review it.

Who’s on the other side? A verified professional with at least five years of experience in your field. Your test, practical work and live discussion all inform the assessment.

Before assessment day

Prepare to show
what you know.

You don’t need a memorised speech. Spend a little time revisiting your work and getting comfortable explaining it.

These are preparation suggestions, not the actual assessment questions.

  • Revisit the basics in your field

Look through your course notes and recent work. Practise explaining a concept without reading the definition aloud.

  • Talk through a project you’ve done

What was the task? What did you do yourself? Why did you take that approach? What would you improve?

  • Get your setup ready

Check your internet, camera and microphone. Choose a quiet place, keep your session details handy and follow the instructions sent for your assessment.

Once your report arrives

What should you do
with your result?

Read the comments as well as the score. That’s where you’ll find the detail you can use.

If you need improvement

Pick one gap. Work on it. Try again.

Start with a specific comment in your report. If your explanations were hard to follow, practise walking through one project out loud. Replay your recording and listen for the parts that need a clearer explanation.

Your first re-attempt is free within 60 days. Use that time to practise the skills highlighted in your feedback.

If you’re Job-Ready

Bring your result into your applications.

Add your certificate and public profile link to your CV. Use the strengths mentioned in your report to choose examples you can discuss when an interviewer asks about your skills.

Keep preparing for each role. Your result shows how you performed in the assessment; employers still decide who fits their job and team.

Questions about
your assessment.

Have a question about your situation? Write to our team.

Ask us a question
How is this different from an aptitude test?

An aptitude test typically focuses on reasoning or problem solving. The GII QUEST™ job readiness assessment also looks at your knowledge of a chosen field, practical work, communication and workplace judgement. A live expert reviews your test and speaks with you before completing the evaluation.

Is this a training course or a mock interview?

It’s an assessment of your current skills. The live discussion gives you experience explaining your work, but the service also includes a test, practical evaluation and a report across eight areas. It is not a training course or a promise of ongoing coaching.

How long does the assessment take?

The total assessment time is 120 minutes across its components. This is not a 120-minute video call. Complete the test before your booked Live Expert Session. Your report is provided after that session is complete.

Is this the right time for me to take it?

It’s most useful when you’re finishing your course, have recently graduated or are preparing for job interviews. If you’re still learning the basics, finish that preparation first. Choose a field you’ve studied or worked in.

Can I complete the assessment from home?

Yes, you can take it online. Register and book your live session, then use the test link sent after registration. Complete the test before the session so your expert has time to review it.

What if I’m nervous about speaking?

You’re assessed on how clearly you explain your ideas, not your accent or how fast you speak. Your expert considers your test, practical work and live discussion together. The recording and feedback can help you see what to practise.

Does everyone receive a certificate?

No. Certificates are issued to candidates who qualify as Job-Ready. Every assessment generates a detailed report, recording, transcript and public verifiable profile. If your result is “Needs Improvement”, use the feedback to prepare; your first re-attempt is free within 60 days.

Will this get me a job?

There is no job or placement guarantee. The assessment helps you understand your readiness and show employers how you performed. Recruiter search and Keeto AI are coming soon; they are not available through this assessment today.
